What is a Pilot Program? Our pilot program is a cross between a Beta test and a small kick starter. For example, currently we are opening the Under Quilt Pilot Program and offering 2 variations, a 3/4 length (Approx. 40") and a full length (Approx. 70"). Pilot Program members can get them at a much lower cost then they will be when officially launched  - $75 for the 3/4 length and $85 for the full length. The quilts will be theirs to keep, the only thing we ask in return is feedback. Here's why this helps us.
  • Prototyping is a long process when only 1 or 2 people are testing. This increases our ability to fine tune products.
  • R&D and prototyping is expensive. The pilot program allows materials to be purchased for early model products and speeds up the process.. plus pilot program members get some low cost, handcrafted gear!
  • The best gear is useful gear, and what better way to learn how well something will work, or how useful it really is than to get it in the hands of the people who will be using it?

How can I get involved? We will be opening these pilot programs to small batches of people at a time. The size of the groups will depend on the complexity of the product (ie: how long it takes me to build each one) and how much testing I think it might need. If you are interested in joining the pilot program contact Kurt at support@hemlockmountainoutdoors.com

Joining is free, you only pay for gear you want to test. If we have an opening you will need to have a customer account on HemlockMountainOutdoors.com (a forums account is not the same), once that is set up you will be granted access to the Pilot Program.

Thank you for stopping by to check out our forums. Fell free to ask questions about HMO gear and products or just talk about hammocks, camping and hiking/backpacking in general.

Brand Ambassadors and those in the Pilot Program: reach out to me so I can set up up with the proper permissions to view the associated sections.

I will add more to this later, just getting things started right now.

Cheers,

Kurt Z
